Mexico and the United States are in discussions on how to tackle the epidemic after President Enrique Pena Nieto announced that he was calling a meeting with US President Donald Trump on Friday.
The US and Mexico are working together to combat the virus, the president’s office said in a statement.
The meeting, scheduled for later on Friday, is expected to focus on ways to improve the health of the people of Mexico, who are facing a deadly pandemic.
Mexico and the US agreed to establish a “coordinated and coordinated response” to the virus in September.
The presidents office said they would be sharing information on how best to prevent the spread of the virus and work to eradicate it.
Mexico, which is also home to about two million people affected by the disease, has been struggling with the outbreak.
It has been hit by an outbreak of the coronavirus that has infected more than 1.2 million people in 14 states and more than half a million others in neighbouring Guatemala.
